Our group story
9th Mirfield was formed on the 23rd February 1978 in the Mirfield and Heckmondwike district (this district become the Heavy Woollen District with the joining of Mirfield and Heckmondwike, Batley and Dewsbury districts in 2005). The group started as a sponsored group with Mirfield Methodist Church support by the minister of the time. When the group first started it had 12 Cubs, today we offer Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers with around 60 members.
